the car park holds more than a few expensive SUVs from Bucharest - there's still
something of a counter-culture vibe in the air. Don't come looking for luxury. There are
no five-star resorts here. Instead, rent a bungalow, grab a beer, relax on the beach by day
and party in the open air at night.
Activities
The main activities are
swimming
, sunbathing, drinking and partying, and not necessarily
in that order. There's a 5km
bike path
to an adjoining seaside village called Doi Mai (2

Sleeping
There's wild camping at both the far southern and northern ends of the beach. Club d'Or
charges 10 lei per tent to

on a wide strip of beach toward the northern end and has showers and toilets.
In spite of Vama Veche's popularity, even in summer you can usually find a room.

Clean, quiet
and close enough to the beach to drift in and out when you want. The rooms resemble a
motel and fan out around a gigantic, clean swimming pool. It's located 100m west of Hwy
E87 at approximately the centre of the village.

This welcoming family-run hotel offers small but ultra-clean rooms with either
double or twin beds in two price categories: A-level rooms are slightly larger and have
