The Clifden is
a very nicely refurbished Georgian house with 14 tastefully decorated rooms. They all
come with bathrooms, are immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. A nice touch is
the free parking, even after you've checked out!

With big bedrooms and plenty of earth tones to
soften the contemporary edges, this functionally modern hotel is your best bet in this part
of town. We love the floor-to-ceiling windows: great for checking out what's going on be-
low in the square.

Jury's hotels
are nothing if not reliable, and this edition of Ireland's most popular hotel chain is no ex-
ception. What do you care that the furnishings were mass- produced and flat-packed and
that the decor was created to be utterly inoffensive to everything save good taste? The loc-
ation - just off Upper O'Connell St - is terrific.

popular hotel along the strip, Brown's 22 rooms are a fairly comfortable bunch even if
they're a little shabby looking. They fill up quickly and there's usually a pretty lively at-
mosphere, although we could do without the noise from the hostel next door.

Only a few steps
from O'Connell St, this solidly three-star hotel is part of the Best Western group and as
such offers the kind of comfortable, if unmemorable, night's sleep associated with the

counted parking at the covered car park next door.
