trendy Fumbally Development is this terrific warehouse cafe. The superb menu has a range

cado sandwich is divine. A cut above the rest.

LEO BURDOCK'S €

(2 Werburgh St; cod & chips €9.50; noon-midnight Mon-Sat, 4pm-midnight Sun; all city centre) You will
often hear that you haven't eaten in Dublin until you've queued in the cold for cod 'n'
chips wrapped in paper from the city's most famous chipper. Total codswallop, of course,
but there's something about sitting on the street, balancing the bag on your lap and trying to
eat the chips quickly before they go cold that smacks of Dublin in a bygone age.
FISH & CHIPS
LOCK'S BRASSERIE €€€
( 01-420 0555; www.locksbrasserie.com ; 1 Windsor Tce; mains €25-32; dinner daily, lunch Thu-Sun; 128,
14, 142, 14A, 15, 15A, 15B, 15E, 15F, 65, 65B, 74, 74A, 83 from city centre) The most discreet of Dublin's
Michelin-starred restaurants is this wonderful canalside brasserie, where head chef Sebasti-
an Masi has wowed diners with his limited menu of old favourites. The six mains are
evenly split between fish and meat, but each is a bit of culinary magic - the John Dory with
squid ink and anchovy pappardelle, purple sprouting broccoli, broccoli puree and garlic
foam is so good that you'll eat it especially slowly.
