ACTIVITIES
Great Guana has superb snorkeling inside the reef along its windward shore and some ex-
cellent diving and bonefishing. Troy Albury is 'the main man' for many visitors' needs. He
runs the friendly dive shop, and hires out a ton of gear for different activities, as well as
looking after some decent accommodations.
Dive Guana DIVING, SNORKELING

snorkeling trips (adult/child $50/30) to the fabulous Fowl Cay and the northern end of the
island. Ask about visiting the divers' favorite 'pet' fish, Gilly the 70lb black grouper and
Charlie the reef shark. Also call here for bikes ($12 per hour), kayaks ($12 per hour), fish-
ing rods ($10 per day) and boat hire.
Henry Sands BONEFISHING, SPORTFISHING

trip with Sands, a bonefishing and sportfishing guide with his own 34ft Bertram.

true tropical dreamscape, these crayon-colored villas and cottages slumber sensuously be-
neath a lush tangle of hibiscus, trumpet vine and buttonwood plants. Borrow a book from
the laid-back main lodge and climb to the roof for unbelievable ocean views. For the
budget- minded, the lodge has three bedrooms with kitchenettes. The shady pool area has a
secret-garden feel, with romantic bistro tables beneath towering palms.
Grabber's HOTEL $$

of party-happy Floridians, this newly refinished mini-resort has nine rooms with a tiki vibe
- wood paneling, stone accent walls, palm-frond decor. Drinking at the poolside bar starts
early; sober up with a snooze in the hammock on the private beach. The casual outdoor
restaurant is hugely popular with locals and day-trippers.
