Creating the Briefing Book
Now that the human resources department is using these reports individually, you find out that
they compile all of these reports together as a yearly summary. To save time, you offer to compile
all the reports into one and add a table of contents to allow for easy navigation. The completed
table of contents should match what's shown in Figure 3.23.
Design
With the actual content already built into three different reports, we will copy and paste the
queries and then import the report pages from the original reports into the new briefing book.
With the report pages added, a table of contents can be added to the first page of the report,
and table of contents entries can be placed in the report details.
Step-by-Step
As you learn more about how the report specifications are stored, you can merge the contents of
several reports into one master report. This saves you time in developing complex reports and
saves time for the report consumers since the reports are already merged and collated.
