HIGH SEASON
The peak travel time in Europe runs from about mid-June through August. The nice weather
and comfortable temperatures bring hordes of visitors—but who can blame them? I love
Europe in the summer. The locals are out in the cafés enjoying the sunny days, and the farm-
ers' markets have the best produce. There is nothing better than enjoying a nice picnic in a
park on a warm summer day.
While European summers are generally comfortable, there are times when the temperature
rises and it can be hard to escape the heat. A lot of apartments, hostels, and hotels are not air-
conditioned and some public transportation isn't air-conditioned either, so it can get rather
uncomfortable when its crammed full of riders.

The hostels are full of young travelers so you're sure to meet plenty of fellow travelers. On
