7. Click Finish Mass in the ribbon, and then select the mass you just created. Click the Mass
Floors tool in the ribbon, and select all the levels in the Mass Floors dialog box.
Do Massing Forms Need Floors?
if massing forms have no mass floors assigned to them, they will be treated as shading objects.
Because of this fact, you can use massing to model existing buildings around your proposed
building. Without mass floors, the other masses will cast analytical shadows on those masses
with mass floors.
if you join massing forms together, the element without mass floors will be considered as
an outside space. When you enable the energy model, you will see exterior walls and glazing
assumptions assigned to these internal joined faces.
8. In the 3D view, click Top on the ViewCube. Select the extruded building core mass and
move it within the tower massing form, as shown in Figure 9.41.

into the tower form.
9. From the Modify tab in the ribbon, click the Join Geometry (or Join) tool. First,
choose the core massing form, and then choose the tower massing form. The order of
picking is important. If you pick the tower first and then the core, the core mass will
disappear.
10. Orbit the 3D view and you should see the extruded form extending the entire height of
the tower form, as shown in Figure 9.42.
