Set back behind a whitewashed church, this convivial place has beautifully
kept Mediterranean-style rooms orbiting a gorgeous pool. Cheaper rooms are at the back
but all are in good conditon, the staff are keen to please and there's a path directly to the
beach.

With its laterite-brick, ivy-clad exterior, Cavala has been charming
Baga-bound travellers for more than 30 years, and continues to deliver clean, simple,
nicely furnished rooms. The bar-restaurant cooks up a storm, with live music most nights
in season. There's a second

Nani's is as charming as it is
well situated, with nine clean, simply furnished rooms (getting a thorough renovation
when we visited), set around a garden and a gorgeous Portuguese colonial bungalow hous-
ing the restaurant Balcao, specialising in Goan food. Pricey compared with its neighbours
but still a good bet.
