HÓNGLUÓ TEMPLE
( Hóngluó Sì)
You won't see many monks, but this temple contains attractive Buddhist sculp-
tures, particularly in
Mahavira Hall
(Dàxióng Bǎodiàn).

( Guānyīn Sì; toboggan one way/return ¥40/60, children half-price)
From Hóngluó Temple follow a steep
path to this small rebuilt temple for fabulous views. You can ride a
toboggan
(
huá dào
)
up to or down from here. Continue 15 minutes more to Heaven Gate ( Tiānmén), or the
summit
(
zhǔfēng;
at least one hour).

500 ARHATS GARDEN
( Wǔbǎi Luóhàn Yuán)
To the east of the grounds, you can walk among 500 statues of
arhats
(Buddhist disciples) which are scattered, rather surreally, around the trees.
