Getting There & Away
Air
Aeropuerto Internacional Alejandro Velasco Astete (CUZ; 22-2611) is Cuzco's main
airport and offers daily flights to and from Lima, Puerto Maldonado (in the Amazon) and
Arequipa. Check in two hours before your flight. During the rainy season (December to
April), flights to Puerto Maldonado may be seriously delayed. Departure taxes are in-
cluded in the ticket.
Bus
Buses to major cities, including Puno, Arequipa and Lima, leave from the terminal terre-
stre ( 22-4471, Vía de Evitamiento 429) , about 700m out of town towards the airport. Buses
for more unusual destinations leave from elsewhere. Check carefully.

A network of minibuses connects Cuzco to other towns in the region. Stops are scattered
around the city. Inquire locally.
Taxi
Colectivos (collective taxis) to Andahuaylillas, Tipón and Piquillacta leave from the
middle of the street outside Tullumayo 207.
