Cañón del Colca
A gigantic fissure that runs for 100km across the High Andes, the Cañón del Colca (Colca
Canyon) is rugged, deep and visually spectacular. Inhabited since pre-Inca times and later
colonized by the Spanish, the region is characterized by its steeply terraced fields and
fiercely traditional villages.
