Monetizing with Google Adsense
The first technique I am going to show you for monetizing a website is with Google Ad-
sense. This is traditionally the easiest way to monetize a website or blog, and generally the
method with the lowest eCPM (earnings per thousand impressions). In spite of it usually
being the lowest earning method, it is the easiest to implement, and therefore, the most com-
mon method. It is the method I primarily recommend for the other business model I teach
(based on generic passive income websites).
While you are just starting off your blog, this method will be fine, but once your blog starts
getting regular traffic or a regular readership, I would suggest getting rid of Google Adsense
and start testing other monetization techniques that will be more profitable.
Putting Google Adsense on a website is a fairly easy process, especially a WordPress web-
site. The first thing you need to do is apply for a Google Adsense account by clicking here:
http://www.google.com/adsense/ .
Note: To apply for a Google Adsense account, you need to have first built a website.
Creating Google Adsense Units for Your Website
Once you are approved for a Google Adsense account (this could take a few days), you are
ready to create ad units for your websites.
To create your first ad unit, first visit http://www.google.com/adsense/ . On this page click
on the “My Ads” button and then press “+ New Ad Unit” button.
