Materials Needed
• 1 x 6" diameter piece of 1/8" thick aluminum pipe 5" long,

• 1 x 6" stove-pipe cap, with two 1/2" holes drilled in it. The
holes should be 1" from the edges, opposite each other.
• 2 x #00 rubber stoppers
• 8" long piece of 2"−4" lumber
• 2-4 lb rubber mallet or mini sledgehammer
• Soil thermometer
• 2" x 6" long sections of latex tubing, 3/16" outside
diameter, 1/8" inside diameter
• 2 x 18 to 22 gauge 1.5" hypodermic needles
• 140 cc syringe
• Pack of 10 x Draeger tubes, 0.1% CO2
