Just down the road
from Venue Cymru, this welcoming, gay-friendly hotel accommodates many a visiting
thespian among its mainly older clientele. Signed memorabilia blankets the walls of the
little residents' bar, and there's a piano, if anyone wants to start a sing along. The carpets
are at war with the wallpaper in the rear-facing singles, but the sea-view rooms have been
freshened up.

Deganwy Ave
isn't Llandudno's most charming street (all of the gardens have been paved over for park-
ing), but Adcote's owners have more than enough charm to go round. Its six tidy rooms
are 'exclusively for adults'.

Occupying a
doubled-sized town house close to the pier and the tramway, Lynton House is almost like
a little midrange hotel. All but the cheaper rooms have newly renovated bathrooms. The
sunny front patio is an appealing place for book reading and tea supping.

It's not
Llandudno's flashest B&B but Plas Madoc distinguishes itself by catering to vegetarians,
vegans and the gluten adverse just as well as it does lovers of flesh and grain. Although
it's set back from the water, its elevated position affords views from the front rooms and
plenty of peace and quiet. No children under 10 years.
