( www.ymochyndu.com ; Sophia Close; noon-11pm) Right by SWALEC Stadium, 'The Black Pig' is
both the de facto cricketer's pub and one of the few places in Cardiff where you might
hear Welsh spoken. There's a big variety of beer on tap, including a range of craft ales.
Once you've checked out the cricket memorabilia in the wood-lined pub, head outside to
the garden to catch the rays.
Entertainment
Pick up a copy of Buzz ( www.buzzmag.co.uk ) , a free monthly magazine with up-to-date enter-

Live Music & Comedy
Massive rock and pop concerts are staged at Millennium Stadium. If you're after a more
intimate experience, try one of the many bars hosting live bands, such as Gwdihw, Buffalo
Bar, 10 Feet Tall and Full Moon.
Most major arts companies are now based at the Wales Millennium Centre. Occasional
classical concerts are held in Cardiff Castle, Llandaff Cathedral and St John's Church.

broken many a Welsh band since the early 1980s. It started as a venue for Welsh-language
music in Anglophone Cardiff and has built a reputation as Cardiff's most eclectic and im-

catch gigs by up-and-coming new acts as well as by more established artists.
