These relationships are practical links between related operations occurring during
the construction process.
Start to start relationships allow the overlapping of related operations. Overlaps
are difficult to express on a network diagram as activities need splitting into separate
parts. This complicates the network (circle and link) diagram and may prove complex
to analyse.
3.3 Procurement programmes
The preparation of procurement programmes is an integral part of the programming
and control process. This is of particular importance on design and build and man-
agement contracts.
In many contract situations the main contactor is responsible for appointing,
organising and managing named and domestic subcontractors.
