Getting There & Away
TO & FROM THE AIRPORT
Newquay Cornwall Airport ( Click here ) is 5 miles from town. Flight destinations vary; there
are seasonal flights to Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle, but at the
time of writing the London connections were in flux. Check the website for the latest de-
tails.
Bus 556 travels to the airport from Newquay Bus Station (22 minutes, hourly in summer)
plus Padstow and nearby villages. Travel Cornwall ( 01726-861108; www.travelcornwall.uk.com ; adult
£11.50) also runs prebooked taxibus services from Newquay.
There is no taxi rank at Newquay airport. Official transfers are provided by ecofriendly
BioTravel ( 01637-880006; www.biotravel.co.uk ) . Local taxi firms offering airport transfers in-
clude A2B Newquay Travel ( 01637-875555; www.newquaytravel.co.uk ) , Henver Cabs ( 07928-825668;
www.newquayairporttaxis.org ) and Carbis Cabs ( 01637-260360; www.newquay-airport-taxis.co.uk ) . Guide
prices: to/from Newquay £15 to £20; Padstow £25 to £30; Truro £40 to £50.
If you're driving, be very careful of parking outside the airport - there have been many
reports of overzealous parking attendants slapping on tickets even if you leave your car
for a second. There's now no free drop-off parking zone, either: the minimum charge is
now £1 for 30 minutes. Long-stay parking costs £13/24.50/32 for one/two/three days,
£7.50 per day for the next eight days, and no charge after that.
