PUB £
( www.warrenhouseinn.co.uk ; mains £8-12; bar 11am-11pm, meals noon-8.30pm) This former tin miner's
haunt exudes the kind of hospitality you only get in a pub in the middle of nowhere. A
Dartmoor legend, its stone floors, trestle tables and hearty food are given an extra glow by
a fire that's been crackling non-stop since 1845. Try its warrener's (rabbit) pie; named
after the men who used to farm the creatures on the moor. It's on the B3212, two miles
north of Postbridge.
