Fox Tor Cafe

gravitates to Princetown's FTC: hikers, horse riders and cyclists, and local families out for
a meal. They're drawn by an open fire, superb coffee, homemade cakes and a surprisingly
wide-ranging menu that features hearty chilli and home-cooked ham, egg and chips, as
well as mushroom stroganof and a tasty lentil wedge.

Postbridge & Around
The hamlet of Postbridge owes its popularity, and its name, to its medieval stone slab or
clapper bridge . This 13th-century structure has four, 3m-long slabs propped up on sturdy
columns of stacked stones. Walking across takes you over the rushing East Dart river;
paths alongside provide picturesque spots to sit, whip off your boots and plunge your feet
into what may feel like the coldest water in the world.

Brimpts Farm
( 0845 0345968; www.brimptsfarm.co.uk ; site per person £2.50, s/d/f £33/55/82; ) The brightly painted,
rustic bedrooms above this farmhouse have views over War Horse location, Combestone
Tor. Converted barns provide another batch of rooms (some self-catering) and there's
back-to-nature camping too. Brimpts is also one of the best moorland cream tea venues,
offering freshly baked scones, homemade jams and utterly gooey clotted cream (£4.50).
