Castle Cove
For a close-to-Dartmouth-swim, clamber down the steps and join the bathers at the tiny
Castle Cove, just round from Dartmouth Castle.

Blackpool Sands
Sun-loving locals head 3 miles south of Dartmouth to this long curl of coarse sand, lured
by beautiful views, kayaking (per hour/day £15/40) and an organic, licensed cafe. Take
bus 93 from Dartmouth (25 minutes, hourly Monday to Saturday, every 2 hours Sunday).
BEACH
Walks
For a short circular walk, catch the Higher Ferry from Dartmouth to the east bank, stroll a
mile downriver to Kingswear, then catch the Lower Ferry back. Or hike the Dart Valley
Trail to Dittisham (5 miles) and cross the river to Greenway on the Dittisham to Green-
way Ferry, then walk down to Kingswear before crossing back to Dartmouth by ferry.
