Hotel Territorio This hotel is small enough to be classified as an inn (36 r ooms),
but considers itself upscale enough to be a fiv e-star. The hotel itself does not cr y for
attention, and y ou may ev en miss it for ho w well it blends into the natural setting. I t's
built in an inconspicuous style with local materials such as stone and tin sheeting. Inside,
it seems they are still trying to figure things out. The views are superb: The lobby, restau-
rant, and bar look out o ver the water and hav e towering windows and a sleek, modern
look. Rooms are the largest in to wn, and all face the water to v arying degrees. They too
feel natural, with washed-cement floors, cr eam walls, dar k-wood furnitur e, and crisp
white linens. Bathrooms are long and narrow, and all have small tubs with ocean vie ws.
There is also a spa that's not always open. By far, Territorio is the ambitious, comfortable,
and stylish lodging option.

Tips C all Ahead
Although reservations are not required anywhere in Puerto Madryn, you can usu-
ally score a better table and a warmer greeting if you call ahead. Even if you don't
arrive exactly on time, the mere fact that your name is on a “list” gives you a bit
more leeway with the waitstaff. If you see a table you like (by a window, for
example) and you have a reservation, they are more likely to give it to you. If you
plan to come around 9:30pm, you'll find most places packed. For earlier diners
(7:30-8:30pm), you should have less of a problem.
