Value
Located cater-corner fr om the lavish P ark Hyatt (p. 267)
and overlooking the Plaza de la Independencia, this hotel is a good v alue in an excellent
location. The Argentino offers midlevel elegance and comfor t at affordable rates. Forty-
four small, standar d r ooms hav e r ecently been upgraded; all ar e furnished with light-
wood and black-wood writing desks and chairs, satiny bed co vers, and small but
sparkling marble bathr ooms with sho wers only. The ex ecutive r ooms ar e also ne wly
refreshed. There's also an airy restaurant and an adjacent bar in the bright and expansiv e
lobby. The business center offers free Internet and Wi-Fi access for hotel guests. If you're
traveling alone, be sure to ask about their single rates at about 10% off the r egular rates.
Rates here include all taxes, making this even more of a bargain.

Hotel Villaggio
The jury is still out on whether this classy new hotel downtown will
stand the test of time (a jerky elevator does not bode well). But rooms are clean, modern,
and bright, with dar k woods, cream-colored linens, and double-panel windo ws to keep
out the noisy str eet. It's just a fe w steps fr om P laza I ndependencia. Upstairs ther e's a
Jacuzzi, small gym, and sauna. The breakfasts are hear ty. The hotel pr omotes itself as
“boutique” and I'd say it's too corporate for that label. S till, service is genuinely friendly
and the price is good. This isn't the kind of hotel y ou want to laz e around in. But it's a
good central bet for those on the go .

Bohemia Hotel B outique
There's just enough funkiness and fabulousness to this
new B&B to take it out of the hostel category and into the boutique hotel one. It's in the
quiet and upscale “Quinta” neighborhood between downtown and the Parque San Mar-
tín. Rooms are small, and decorated in an Ar t Nouveau style. The quietest and most
spacious room is next to the pool. Staff are helpful, friendly, and will even cook you din-
ner upon request! They charge extra for paying with a cr edit card.

Value
Like a five-star resort at rock-bottom prices, this hostel is
located in the heart of the happening Arístides district, in a r enovated old family home.
It has a huge pool, garden, and barbecue in the backyard, friendly staff and information
desk, and a funky bar . I t's popular with y oung trav elers and backpackers, and ther e's
always something going on her e. Q uiet, peaceful sleeps ar e not guaranteed! P rivate
double rooms are also available for guests who don't feel up to sharing.
