La Linda COFFEEHOUSE Big and popular , La Linda has gaucho pictur es on the
walls that match the regional dishes on the menu such as empanadas and locro. Its over-
all ambience is bright and air y, if a little sterile and wor kaday. It is a popular coffee stop
for locals who hang around to talk politics and the economy beneath attractive tapestries
hanging on corn-yellow walls. Friday nights see the occasional liv e music folklore band.

La Revolucion ARGENTINE Here you step into one of the hippest r estaurant bars
in the city, popular with students who like to muse over their beers on metal tables amid
pink-striped walls holding frames of old-world labels. The place mats celebrate the
Argentine Declaration of Independence and bear regular fare such as chicken dishes and
pizza. The small zinc bar and the old to wn-house feel mean La Revolucion is a nice mix
of old and new, with lots of atmosphere.

Mandarina IT ALIAN This eclectic r estaurant, along the pedestrian walkway
Obispo Trejo, is a cornucopia of surr eal and occasionally sexual ar twork. The city's cul-
tural crowd comes for salads, pizzas, and pastas and later for wines, whiskeys, and wacky
cocktails. Freshly baked br eads and jams pr epared with fr esh fruits add to M andarina's
appeal. The best wines on the wine list ar e Zuccardi, Terrazzas, and Chandon.

Novecento ARGENTINE This attractive, somewhat trendy restaurant is par t
of the city museum complex and offers the per fect pit stop while doing the city 's Jesuit
circuit. Bronze statues of hounds, peasants, and gods cir cle a tiled courtyard with plants
and an ar ched gallery. A balcony looks do wn on deck chair-style seating. I nside you'll
find a tall glass ceiling and traditional bar with old-style furnitur e. P rovoleta (grilled
provolone cheese), risotto, and pasta ar e all on the menu, as w ell as salmon and the fish
of the day.

La Vieja Esquina Value ARGENTINE This is a tiny corner diner that any Cordo-
besa will tell y ou does the best empanadas in to wn. It does a thriving business in home
delivery; and no wonder, as this atmospheric little place has room for a small counter bar
and little else ex cept brick walls framed with wood and old baskets hanging o verhead.
Perfect for a quick snack on the go, or a handy number to have if you get peckish in your
hotel room early evening.

The tour lasts 1 1 / 2 hours, visiting 40 sights, so it is especially good if you're spending only
a short time in Córdoba; you'll see a lot in under 2 hours. The double-decker red buses
