El Quincho del Tío Querido PARRILLA Located in the hear t of to wn, this
restaurant serves excellent parrilla and fresh river fish such as dorado or surubí, along with
excellent wines. Open for nearly 20 years, the restaurant also offers live music, including
tango and folklórico. Shows start every night at 8pm.

La Esquina Restaurante Finds ARGENTINE This handsome restaurant, located
in the Saint George hotel, has the most inter esting menu around, including dorado fish
al Roquefort and boga fish with lemon sauce. There is a grand central buffet with an
excellent salad bar, and it can be all washed do wn by wine from a very decent wine list.
Try the Patagonian pinot noir Humberto Canale, and you'll be pleasantly surprised. The
decor is open, with orange walls and stylish y ellow lamps hanging over the bar area. It's
a pleasant, upscale restaurant that's perfect for a romantic dinner.

El Charo Finds ARGENTINE Large and somewhat soulless, El Charo produces deli-
cious food and is tr emendously popular with tourists and locals alike. Among the main
dishes, you'll find br eaded veal, sirloin steaks, por k chops, catfish, and items fr om the
parrilla. Also available are salads and pastas such as ravioli and cannelloni.

La Rueda Finds ARGENTINE Nothing more than a small A-frame house with
an outdoor patio built from local materials, La Rueda is a delightful place to eat. Despite
the casual atmosphere, tables have carefully prepared place settings, waiters are attentive
and friendly, and the food—ser ved in large por tions—is very good. The diverse menu
features pasta, steaks, and fish dishes. Try the surubí brochette, a local whitefish prepared
with bacon, tomatoes, onions, and peppers, and ser ved with green rice and potatoes.

Color ARGENTINE The name and rainbo w-style logo may look like that of a pho-
tography shop, but Color is one of I guazú's most popular r estaurants and is jammed at
night, mostly with tourists. The large and airy indoor part is modern and attractive with
lime gr een tablecloths and a large tr ee gr owing thr ough the r oof. O utside, ther e is a
street-side cour tyard with wooden decking and lots of seating. The stage at one end
accommodates live bands at the w eekend, and it can get rather noisy . Try the Argentine
favorite milanesa —a thick slab of grilled beef or chicken dipped in br ead crumbs. Color
is located close to the town center next to the bus terminal.
