The Sheraton overlooks the golf course and the militar y por t, near
Playa G rande. R ooms w ere r ecently r enovated and include their trademar k S heraton
Suite Sleeper beds. The hotel has a childr en's area and a video ar cade, making it a gr eat
choice for families. There are two pools, one indoor and one outdoo. A $15 (£10) charge

the sea, it's simply stunning for a workout. A garden surrounds the outdoor pool, free of

oversize; suites have Jacuzzi tubs.

Ivo Cafe
GREEK/ARGENTINE I can't say enough about this fantastic G reek
restaurant at the bottom of a high-rise condo o verlooking the ocean. It's a two-level res-
taurant, with sidewalk seating. The Greek owners serve Greek food along with an Argen-
tine
parrilla
(grill). They have oversize Greek salads, excellent souvlakia, and many other
Greek choices. The chic black table is also set with olives and eggplant pastes for dipping
in bread. Also, while they have an English-language menu, ask for the Spanish one if you
can read it; it has mor e and better choices. F rom the plate-glass windo ws, diners have a
view of the sweeping arc of lights on the Mar del Plata shoreline. Come for dinner shows
each Thursday, beginning at 9pm, with Greek dancing for a charge of about $15 (£10),
which includes a meal but not the cost of drinks. Still, come in the wee hours on any day,
and you'll find that the staff br eaks into piano playing, singing, and traditional danc-
ing.

ARGENTINE This r estaurant became famous for ser ving a whole
cow upon special request, for large groups of 50 or more people. It's not often that they
do that anymor e, but La M arca r emains the to wn's best
parrilla,
ser ving thick r ump
steaks, tenderloins, and barbecued ribs of beef, flanks, and other cuts of beef. The tender
filet mignon with mushroom sauce is delicious. The menu includes pork chops, sausages,
