Homeland War Museum

land War' - as the 1990s war is dubbed in Croatia - this museum is set inside a Napo-
leonic Fort, just above where the cable car drops you off. It provides a detailed account of
the damage wreaked on the city, as well as videos of the bombardment.

Banje Beach (outside Ploče Gate) , around 600m east of the Ploče Gate, is the most popular city
beach. Just southeast of here is Sveti Jakov , a good local beach that doesn't get rowdy and
has showers, a bar and a restaurant. Buses 5 and 8 will get you there.
