Hôtel Kamal HOTEL $$

modernist white block near the town hall, the Kamal manages to appeal to a wide range of
clients, including package-tour groups and travelling Moroccans. Rooms are bright and
clean, and there's a pool large enough to swim laps in.
Eating
The cheap snack bars in Nouveau Talborjt and around the bus stations are open after
hours. The fish stalls (meals around Dh50) at the entrance to the commercial port are excellent.
There are plenty of places along the beach to chill at midday or toast the sunset. Some
places along Palm Beach stay open till 1am in summer.
Bab Marrakesh MOROCCAN $
( 0528 826144; Rue de Massa; sandwiches Dh25-35, couscous Dh70, tajine for 2 Dh100) Near Souq al-Had,
this is the real thing - far removed from the tourist traps near the beach. Highly regarded
by locals, it serves authentic Moroccan food at authentic prices.
La Scala MOROCCAN $$$
( 0528 846773; Rue du Oued Souss; meal incl wine Dh350) An excellent Moroccan restaurant, La
Scala has a pleasantly cosmopolitan atmosphere. The food is elegant and fresh, and beau-
tifully presented.

Banks with ATMs and internet places proliferate along Blvd Hassan II.
Getting There & Away
Although a good number of buses serve Agadir, it is quite possible you'll end up in the re-
gional transport hub of Inezgane, 13km south - check before you buy your ticket. Plenty
of grands taxis (Dh8) and local buses shuttle between there and Agadir.
CTM has buses to Casablanca (Dh180, eight hours, six daily), Marrakesh (Dh80, four
hours, seven daily) and Essaouira (Dh60, two hours, one daily). There are more bus op-
tions at the regional transport hub of Inezgane, 13km to the south.
The main grand taxi rank is at the south end of Rue de Fès. Destinations include
Inezgane (Dh8), Taroudannt (Dh35) and Essaouira (Dh70).
