In-Depth Information
( 9999 8790, 3346 1584; off Rte de Campo; r without/with sea view CFA20,000/30,000; ) There's
not much new about the New Hotel Coco Beach, indeed its rooms have certainly seen bet-
ter days, but they're clean and comfortable and some of them have fantastic sea views.
The beach is just below the hotel and you can have breakfast as the waves splash just a
short wander away - magic.
Les Gîtes de Kribi GUESTHOUSE $$
( 7508 0845; www.kribiholidays.com ; Rte de Campo; r CFA20,000, gîtes CFA45,000; ) Ideal for
families, the gîtes (self-contained cottages) here are of varying sizes, but all are well
equipped and have their own small kitchens. There are also normal rooms in the main
building for those not en famille . Across the road there's a charming beach restaurant that
serves up fresh fish in high season.
Auberge du Phare GUESTHOUSE $$$
( 7564 0464; www.pharedekribi.cm ; off Rte de Campo; r CFA28,000-50,000; ) Right on the
seafront, this great place has classy blonde-wood accents, navy-blue sheets and nautical
embellishments that give rooms some character, while the peeling courtyard, crystal pool
and thatched bar are tropically indulgent.

Expect to pay from CFA3000 per meal; seafood obviously features heavily.
Fish Market SEAFOOD $
(meals from CFA1000; 10am-5pm Wed & Sat) This market at the marina grills the day's catch
over coals. From crab and lobster to massive barracuda, you'd be hard-pressed to find a
better and tastier selection of seafood anywhere in Cameroon.
Fish & Meat Stands FAST FOOD $
(meals from CFA1000; 10am-late) On Carrefour Kingué you'll find plenty of fish and meat
stands lined up in front of the bars.
