Built in 1928 by Chinese millionaire Chang Wing, this grand building was used as the
residence of the Japanese Governor during KL's WWII occupation. It was requisitioned
by the government in 1957 and turned into the National Palace.
SAM KOW TONG TEMPLE

'three teachings' temple has a dragon-decorated roof that contrasts with the soaring
towers above KL Sentral. Look for the paintings that show filial piety.

Hundred Quarters were built in 1905 to house railway employees and other civil servants.
These multi-ethnic two roads, Jln Rozario and Jln Chan Ah Tong, are named after former
chief clerks of the colonial civil service. The ongoing redevelopment of the area has put
these heritage buildings under threat; residents have been given notice to vacate, with an
assurance that no one will be moved until suitable alternative accommodation is found.
