You can't miss the mouthwatering display of Turkish delight outside this shop, located
near the main entrance of the market. This is where the locals shop for their sweet treats
and it's a whole different taste experience to those suspiciously cheap boxes of the sugary
delicacy sold at the souvenir shops.

a rack of all kinds of magazines. Also has a branch of Gloria Jeans Coffee, with 14 caf-
feine fixes to choose from, and a shady outside patio.

Hidden away among the endless stalls selling lycra leggings and similar is this shop that
has been selling buttons since the 1950s. The choice is wonderfully diverse including
translucent and delicate, big and brassy and enticingly retro. Local crafts also sold.
SHOPPERS BEWARE
A word of warning: if you're visiting from the South and decide to go on a shopping spree in the North, or vice
versa, beware the Greek Cypriot customs regulations: you can't take more than 200 cigarettes and 1L of alcohol
or wine, plus €100 worth of other goods across the North-South border. So don't go indulging in expensive car-
pets!
