When drawing a kitten's eye, make your pencil lines radiate out from the
pupil, then blend with a tortillion. Dark fur grows from the tear duct along
the side of the nose.
Kitten Eyes
Cat eyes have vertical pupils. In bright light they are just thin slits, but in
dim lighting they become almost round. Cat eyes vary slightly in shape
between breeds. For example, a Siamese's eyes are more slanted and
almond-shaped than a Persian's. As with any baby animal, kitten eyes ap-
pear larger in proportion to the face than they do in an adult cat.
Basset Hound Eye
Some dogs have a lot of heavy folds and wrinkles. This basset hound puppy
has eyes that droop underneath, showing the inside of the lower eyelid, due
to the heavy skin around the eye pulling it down.
