Cafe-bars overlook the main square around Igreja Nova. In Praia da Arrifana there's a
string of seafood restaurants (packed with Portuguese at weekends) on the road above the
beach, where you can expect to pay around €10 for grilled fish.

Located near the bridge, the municipal market is a good place to buy
fresh fruit and vegies.

you'll be in like a shot, thanks to the wonderful aromas emanating from the doors. It's un-
pretentious and family-run, and (you guessed it) serves up some authentic, Portuguese

Getting Around
If you're driving, there's a free car park next to the
turismo
. Eva buses run between Lagos
and Aljezur (€4, four on weekdays, one on Saturday). One bus runs on weekdays to/from
(€17.10, three daily) and south to Lagos (€7.60, two daily) and Portimão (€8.60, one
daily). Unfortunately, at the time of research, no buses were running to/from Praia da Ar-
rifana.
