Rte 396, 5km north of Loulé in the village of Clareanes, is this smart restaurant, the
stables of a converted threshing mill, now several rooms and two outdoor terraces. People
come from afar to feast on dishes of
javali
(wild boar), lamb and bean cas serole , and
stewed rabbit. To top it off, choose from one of 96 wines -
hic
- and that's the red alone.
Vegetarians are catered for, too.

This traditional
1920s-style cafe (Loulé's oldest) has marble-topped tables and sidewalk tables. The statue
outside depicts António Aleixo, an early-20th-century poet and former regular of the cafe.

Popular with Loulé's younger crowd, this bar has an Arabic
theme and an international party philosophy.

Loulé's excellent arts and crafts are made and sold in craft shops around and behind the
castle (Rua Barbaca). The
