Toll Roads
There are tolls on most motorways, payable by cash or credit card as you exit. For inform-

Funicular
Three of Naples' four funiculare (funicular) railways connect the city centre with Vomero.
The fourth, Funiculare di Mergellina ( 7am-10pm) , connects the waterfront at Via
Mergellina with Via Manzoni. Unico Napoli tickets are valid onboard.
Funiculare Centrale (
6.30am-10pm Mon & Tue, to 12.30am Wed-Sun) Ascends from
Via Toledo to Piazza Fuga.
Funiculare di Chiaia ( 7am-10pm Tue & Wed, to 12.30am Thu, Sun & Mon, to 2am
Fri & Sat) Travels from Via del Parco Margherita to Via Domenico Cimarosa.
Funiculare di Montesanto (
7am-10pm) From Piazza Montesanto to Via Raffaele
Morghen.

Naples' Metropolitana (

ground.
» Line 1 (6am-11pm) At the time this topic went to press, the line ran north from
Università (for Piazza Bovio), stopping at Toledo (for Via Toledo), Dante (for Piazza
Dante), Museo (for Piazza Cavour and Line 2), Materdei, Salvator Rosa, Cilea, Piazza
Vanvitelli, Piazza Medaglie D'Oro and seven stops beyond. By late 2013, the line's exten-
sion will also see it stop at Municipio (for Piazza Municipio and the ferry terminal),
Duomo (for Via Duomo) and Garibaldi (for Stazione Centrale).
» Line 2 (5.30am-11pm) Runs from Gianturco, just east of Stazione Centrale, with stops
at Piazza Garibaldi (for Stazione Centrale), Piazza Cavour, Montesanto, Piazza Amedeo,
Mergellina, Piazza Leopardi, Campi Flegrei, Cavaleggeri d'Aosta, Bagnoli and Pozzuoli.
Metro journeys are covered by Unico Napoli tickets.
