The 18km-long Saklıkent Gorge is renowned for canyoning and can be reached on day
trips from Mediterranean towns such as Fethiye. In the same area, head to Ölüdeniz and
Kaş for paragliding and parasailing, and to Fethiye and Olympos for gület (traditional
wooden yacht) cruises. For white-water rafting, the Kaçkar Mountains are the best destin-
ation, along with Saklıkent Gorge and Köprülü Kanyon (near Antalya).
On the Çeşme Peninsula (near İzmir), Alaçatı is a world-class windsurfing (and kitesur-
fing) destination.
