Most Pamukkale bus services involve changing in Denizli. In summer direct buses serve
Selçuk ( " 27) and Kuşadası ( " 30).
Buses and dolmuşes run frequently between Denizli and Pamukkale ( " 5, 40 minutes).
Most people choose advance hotel booking to get the free lift from Denizli (and often,
back again). Taxis from Denizli centre/airport cost " 60/85.
Regular services to/from Denizli include Ankara ( " 35, seven hours), Antalya ( " 25, five
hours), Bodrum ( " 25, 4½ hours), Bursa ( " 42, nine hours), Fethiye ( " 25, five hours), İstan-

tecture, and are good places to pick up traditional items such as Karagöz shadow pup-
pets and silk.

bedesten (warehouse), reconstructed after the 1855 earthquake.

(Old Mirrored Market; Kapalı Çarşı Caddesi) Originally a hamam, the 14th-century Eski Ayn-
alı Çarşı features a domed ceiling with skylights. Karagöz shadow puppets and other
traditional items are sold here. Found in the Kapalı Çarşı.
