5 HORSE RIDING
Patara Beach is very wide: even when the turtles are nesting (July to September) and
you cannot get too close to the waves for fear of damaging their eggs, you can ride on
the beach (

. Look out for the tracks left by the turtles coming to lay eggs.
Horse rides lead through Patara Forest's olive- and pine-tree-lined paths, then cross the
dunes to the beach and carry on through farmland. You can also ride to other places
such as the ruins and Xanthos River.
