Kekova
One of the Turquoise Coast's most stunning areas is this watery paradise (see boxed text,
Click here ) , its rippling shallows and vertiginous slopes dotted with Lycian tombs. Most
easily visited on a boat trip from Kaş, Kekova island was once part of the Lycian city of
Simena. Due to 2nd-century AD earthquakes, it is now the famous Sunken City (Batık Şe-
hir); the water's smooth surface glitters and fish dart above the ancient ruins.
