Phone Cleaning
It's really easy to get carried away taking huge numbers of photos especially with mobile
phones. Home videos are even worse offenders of consuming data storage and it adds up to
full phone storage if it goes unchecked. While modern computers have more than enough
storage for the vast majority of users, you might need to clean out your phone's storage every
once in a while. As I mentioned in the get better apps section, file manager is a good app for
finding these files and seeing what's taking up a lot of your space. However, it's possible to
go further so here's a few tips to help with keeping your phone's storage at healthy levels.
Tackle big files like videos, gaming apps, and podcasts first.
Use the storage screen found under the settings menu or a file management
app like File Manager to find your largest offenders.
If you download a lot of files then check the Misc files and your biggest dir-
ectories for hidden files. Most apps that navigate your system will show the
directory size so you can hone on the big ones first.
It probably goes without saying, but double check that its OK to delete before
following through. Android has no built-in recycle bin.
