Changing Your Default SMS App
One of people's favorite activities to do with mobile phones is to text their friends family
and the messages sent are known as SMS or short messaging service messages. What you
might not know is that you can actually pick your own app to receive messages sent to your
phone number instead of using the default app. One nice advantage of doing this is that if
you already receive non-SMS messages through that app, then you can combine more into
one place. If you're a big fan of google applications then Google Hangouts is a powerful
built-in option. However, the existence of the option is not immediately obvious.
To get there
1.
Slide down the notification display
2.
Click the options menu icon with the user avatar face
3.
Go into the Settings list as normal
4.
Under Wireless & Networks, click more
5.
Click Default SMS app and choose from viable applications installed.
