It's actually rather amazing how Anime has gone from being not talked about at all to being
many many of the cartoons that kids grew up with and evolving to being a relatively main-
stream activity with conventions popping up all over the place. Over the years, like all kinds
of television shows, Anime moved into online spaces as well. In many cases however, the
shows that people love to watch are poorly hosted on fan made sites without permission
from the publishers. That's what the Crunchyroll website and app are trying to fix.
On Crunchyroll, they host a huge amount of Anime shows with original Japanese audio but
English subtitles like many people prefer. They do this in a legal ad supported manner simil-
ar to Hulu or Netflix, but with a far more focused library. You can watch all the new Anime
shows as they come out with a one week delay or subscribe to the paid version to eliminate
ads and get them immediately.
