The weather in March is capricious: sunny, rainy and windy all at once. The official
start of spring is 21 March, but the main holiday season starts with Easter week.

Processions and passion plays mark Easter Holy Week across the south. On Good Friday
and the Thursday preceding it, hooded penitents walk through the streets of Sorrento ( Click
here ) . On Procida, Good Friday sees wooden statues and life-size tableaux carted across the
island for the Procession of the Misteri ( Click here ).
