For an alternative viewing platform,
head down the road to the Chiesa di San Carlo al Corso where you can climb to the top of
the
campanile
(belltower). If you suffer from vertigo, stick to admiring the handsome con-
cave facade with its three orders of rising columns.

Towering over the tourist office on Piazza XVI Maggio are the
Chiesa di San Domenico
both designed by Rosario Gagliardi.

Festivals & Events
Infiorata
Noto's big annual jamboree is the Infiorata, held around the third Sunday in May. The
highlight of the festival is the decoration of Via Corrada Nicolaci, with works of art made
entirely from flower petals.

There are a number of restaurants in the historical centre, but pride of place goes to a cafe,
famous for its
granite
(crushed-ice drinks), and a gelateria that churns out fabulous ice
cream.
