Mar i Muntanya (Sea & Mountain)
This itinerary takes you along the promenade that skirts the
Mediterranean, then into the old fishing quarter of Barceloneta
before whisking you up to the heights of Montjuïc for fine
views, fragrant gardens and superb art galleries - including
two of the city's top museums.
Barceloneta Beach
Start the morning with a stroll along the waterfront. Take in the scenic views of this once
derelict area that experienced a dramatic makeover in days before and after the 1992
Olympics. Look north and you'll see Frank Gehry's shimmering fish sculpture while to
the south rises the spinnaker-shaped tower of the W Hotel.

Look for the restaurant just north of the rectangular beach sculpture, off Carrer del Almirall Aixada.
