Babysitters
Most of the midrange and top-end hotels in Barcelona can organise babysitting services. A
company that many hotels use and that you can also contact directly is 5 Serveis ( 93 412
56 76; www.5serveis.com ; Carrer de Pelai 50) . It has multilingual canguros (babysitters). Rates
vary, but in the evening expect to pay around €12 an hour plus the cost of a taxi home for
the babysitter. Tender Loving Canguros ( 647 605989; www.tlcanguros.com ) offers English-
speaking babysitters for a minimum of three hours (from €8 an hour).

» Nappies (diapers) Nappies, dummies, creams and formula can be had at any of the
city's many pharmacies. Nappies are cheaper in supermarkets.

» Transport Barcelona's metro is accessible and great for families with strollers - just
be mindful of your bags around the pickpockets who often target distracted parents.
