street you can see the golden hues of the backlit bar way down the end of a long lounge-
lined passageway. To the left of the bar by a bare brick wall is a pool table, popular but
somehow out of place in this chic, ill-lit chill den (with attached restaurant).

ness since the 1860s, this unchanged corner bar is dark and intriguing, with Modernista
decor and a mixed clientele.

This fun and minuscule club is a standing favourite with the downtown crowd. In the
main dance area, DJs dish out house, techno and electro, while upstairs you can groove to
a nice blend of indie and occasional classic-pop throwbacks.
