DAY TRIPPER
You've got a free day in Puerto Jiménez and you don't want to hang around town? Here's
what you can do:
Take a trip to meet a local farmer or learn about rainforest medicine with Osa Wild .
Cross the bay and snuggle a spider monkey at Fundacíon Santuario Silvestre de Osa .
Kayak through the mangrove estuary to look for caimans, birds and monkeys with Aven-
turas Tropicales .
Indulge your sweet tooth. See (and taste) where chocolate comes from at Finca Köbö .
Slow down and get some sun. Have a picnic on the deserted wilderness beach of Playa
Blanca.
Sleeping
Puerto Jiménez is fairly quiet most times of the year, though reservations are always a
good idea on weekends and during busy holidays. You'll find the greatest diversity of ac-
commodations at the budget and midrange levels here, more so than in other parts of the
Osa. Top-end options tend to be located on the outskirts of town.
