Cabinas Back Packers
HOTEL
Puerto Jiménez has a burden of riches with budget digs, but this is among the best of the
bunch - it's squeaky clean, relatively quiet and situated directly next to the
colectivo
sta-
tion leading to the park and just a bit out of the town, so you'll get a good night's sleep.
There's a range of room options with differing amenities. It also rents tents and camping
gear and there's even a brightly tiled kitchen, available for a US$5 fee.
Cabinas the Corner
HOSTEL
with/without bathroom US$14/12; )
While this family-run backpackers provides little more than a bed in a fan-cooled room for
the night, the Corner is kept admirably clean and secure, and resultantly has a growing le-
gion of fans. If all you need is a bit of shut-eye before heading to Corcovado, this is as
good a place as any to link up with other trekkers.

Cabinas Jiménez is hands-down the nicest place to stay in town. All of the rooms have
jungle scenes painted on the walls, with underwater murals in the hot-water bathrooms.
Refrigerators and safes are practical, while details such as carved wooden furniture, woven
textiles and batik curtains add an elegant flair. Pricier rooms have kitchenettes and fantast-
ic views of the lagoon. Bikes and kayaks are free for guests' use, and the bilingual staff is
friendly and helpful.
