Yökö Termales

Yökö has four hot springs and a larger pool with a small waterslide and waterfall, set in an
attractive meadow at the foot of Miravalles. The views are magnificent, but there's little
shade around the pools. The 12 canary-tinted rooms (singles/doubles/triples/quads includ-
ing breakfast US$40/75/100/125) are comfy, with beamed and plywood ceilings that look
unfinished. It's a decent, but not magical, sleeping option.
Termales Miravalles

For some local flavor, Termales Miravalles has four pools and a super waterslide, all lying
along a thermal stream. There's a small restaurant and space for camping. It's usually open
on weekends year-round, and daily during high season. The access road is directly across
from Yökö hot springs.
Las Hornillas

On the southern slopes of Miravalles, Las Hornillas has a unique lunar landscape, with
bubbling pools and fumaroles on the property. Hike to explore a small volcanic crater and
bathe in the mud pools. Or traverse a hanging bridge and discover a spectacular waterfall.
Miravalles Volcano Adventure Center

There's something for everybody at this adventure center near the base of the volcano. The
centerpiece of the complex is the canopy tour, which has 12 cables and hanging bridges
through fields and forest. There's a camping area and a swimming pool that's fed by
mountain-spring water. The place also organizes hiking and horseback-riding tours, in-
cluding one all-day expedition to the Miravalles crater.
Getting There & Away
Volcán Miravalles is 27km northeast of Bagaces and can be approached by a paved road
that leads north of Bagaces through the communities of Salitral and Torno, where the road
