Train
Oban is at the terminus of a scenic route that branches off the West Highland line at Crian-
larich. The train isn't much use for travelling north from Oban − to reach Fort William re-
quires a detour via Crianlarich (3¾ hours). Take the bus instead.

Getting Around
Bus
West Coast Motors ( Click here ) bus 417 makes two loops from the train station − north
to Ganavan Sands via Oban Youth Hostel and south to the Kerrera ferry and Oban Cara-
van & Camping Park (hourly Monday to Saturday).
Car
Hazelbank Motors ( 01631-566476; www.obancarhire.co.uk ; Lynn Rd;
8.30am-5.30pm Mon-Sat) hires out small cars per day/week from £40/225 including VAT,
insurance and CDW (Collision Damage Waiver).
